Writers’ rescue stories to raise money for GNAAS

A collection of poetry and prose by members of the Wensleydale Writers group has gone on sale to raise money for air ambulance services.

The Flights of Fantasy book features dozens of tales from writers around the North Yorkshire beauty spot, as well as illustrations from local artist David Nash, who has also contributed a story to the book.

It includes a foreward and two stories from Northern Echo columnist Mike Amos, who is president of the group.

In this foreward, Mr Amos writes: “The writen word still prospers at the hands of Wensleydale Writers. May their efforts be rewarded and the air ambulance services greatly benefit, but, most of all, may writing continue to be fun.”

Mail order copies of the book are available for £6 (including postage) from Wensleydale Writers, Helen Weatherall, Manor Farm, Horsehouse, Leyburn, DL8 4TS. Cheques should be made payable to Wensleydale Writers.

As well as GNAAS, proceeds from the sale of the book will also go to Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
