A WOMAN was treated for a heat illness on a Lake District fell while out walking yesterday. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called at 4pm to the 23-year-old woman who had been walking near Scafell Pike with her boyfriend when the exposed heat on the fells caused her to suffer from heat exhaustion and severe dehydration. The Pride of Cumbria air ambulance flew to the scene and the GNAAS doctor and paramedic crew treated the woman before she was flown to West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven within 10 minutes where she arrived in a stable condition..
