A WOMAN found collapsed in the street has been airlifted to hospital. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the woman’s aid in Kirkby Stephen at 2pm yesterday. The woman, believed to be in her 60s, was treated at the scene for a serious head injury before being flown to the major trauma centre at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesborough.
