At 3.52pm yesterday the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) were called to a woman who had been involved in a two-vehicle road traffic accident near Leyburn, North Yorkshire. The 62-year-old woman sustained multiple injuries to her chest, abdomen and pelvis area and was treated by GNAAS trauma team and Yorkshire road paramedics before being flown to James Cook University Hospital. She was in a critical condition and the flight took 14 minutes..
