A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital after a car rolled over following a serious crash on the A1 at Chester-le-Steet. The woman sustained serious chest injuries and the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at 2.30pm on Saturday. The GNAAS doctor-led trauma team assessed and treated the woman before accompanying her in an ambulance to hospital.
