Nine years ago, we flew to Frankie Pitt’s rescue after she fell from her horse and suffered from a serious head injury.
We arrived on the scene, anaesthetised Frankie and inserted a breathing tube to ensure she was getting the best flow of oxygen to the brain.
Frankie was then airlifted to the RVI hospital and woke up 25-30 hours later.
She said: “I feel like without the charity I probably wouldn’t be here, you never realise that you’ll need it until you are the person in need and in the life or death situation”.
