A TEENAGER was airlifted to hospital after injuring his leg in woods at Otterburn Training Area yesterday (August 5). The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to Otterburn, Northumberland, at around 3pm, where a man had sustained a leg injury while training in the woods. The 13-year-old, from Hexham, was treated by the GNAAS doctor-led aircrew for a leg injury. He was flown to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, Cramlington, in just ten minutes.

The 13-year-old, from Hexham, was treated by the GNAAS doctor-led aircrew for a leg injury.
He was flown to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, Cramlington, in just ten minutes. The same journey by road would have taken around 55 minutes. He arrived in a stable condition.
GNAAS worked alongside North East Ambulance Service.
