Rugby player airlifted to hospital from Carlisle


A MAN was flown to hospital after sustaining a neck injury while playing rugby. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the incident at Carlisle Rugby Club at 3.28pm on Saturday. The 35-year-old man was assessed by the GNAAS crew and a North West Ambulance Service paramedic before being flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle within 20 minutes.
