The Pride of Cumbria was called into action yesterday evening when a 57-year-old woman fell while walking on Fleetwith Pike, near Buttermere, Cumbria.
The aircraft, operated by the Great North Air Ambulance Service from its base at Langwathby, near Penrith, was called out at 5pm.
The woman was found to have arm injuries and after treatment by the aircrew doctor and paramedic, she was flown to hospital in Whitehaven.
The flight took nine minutes and the patient arrived in a stable condition.
