Meet our Corporate Partners: KP Snacks

KP Snacks may be known universally for their variety of crisps, but did you know they are also incredibly supportive of charities?

The snack manufacturer has factories and offices in eight locations across the UK, including one in Billingham, where they produce a wide range of crisps and snacks including McCoy’s, Discos, KP nuts and Pom-Bear.

They proudly support many projects to make a difference in their local communities, as well as supporting several charities nationally.

Last year the Charity Team at the Teesside site chose four local charities in the area covering different aspects of needs, and then asked their employees to choose their preference.

GNAAS received the highest number of votes and became their chosen charity for the year.

This led to the team fundraising in a variety of ways including one of their staff members running a half marathon and climbing Roseberry Topping dressed as a Pom-Bear mascot.

The Charity Team at KP Snacks’ Teesside site, said: “It is important for our company to give back to the community. GNAAS was voted for by our colleagues and we fundraised for the charity by having raffles, a fun day and sweet sales.”

In addition to donating money, KP Snacks have kindly donated several boxes of a variety of crisps for the charity’s staff to enjoy while hard at work.

One of their most recent drop-offs of crisps was at the launch of our new Corporate Partner Scheme which celebrated local companies who have supported our charity throughout 2023 and into 2024.

To become a Corporate Partner at GNAAS, businesses need to raise a minimum of £5,000, which KP Snacks qualified for, and they were invited to the launch event at our headquarters near Eaglescliffe.

The event provided further insight into the operations of our charity and featured guest speaker Sue Wilkinson, who required the help of our charity’s critical care team following a cardiac arrest.

The site Charity Team said: “It was an amazing experience listening to the stories of people who have been helped by GNAAS and hearing from the operations team.”

KP Snacks were presented with a glass display plaque acknowledging their valuable contribution to our charity and as a Corporate Partner they will be given opportunities to volunteer, use our conference room, and have first refusal of sponsorships and invites to charity events.

When asked why other businesses should support GNAAS, the site Charity Team said: “They receive no funding, so there is a need to raise funds to help save people’s lives.”
