A MAN was flown to hospital after becoming trapped between two cars.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to Bowness-on-Windermere at 11.45am on Sunday.
The 46-year-old man, from Preston, sustained a significant lower leg injury and was treated at the scene by the GNAAS team and North West Ambulance Service paramedics. He was given strong pain relief and flown to the Royal Preston Hospital within 17 minutes for specialist treatment.
While returning to base, the Pride of Cumbria was called to Haverthwaite near Ulverston where a 45-year-old woman, from Ulverston, had fallen from a bike and sustained facial injuries.
She was assessed and treated by the GNAAS crew before being taken to Furness General Hospital by North West Ambulance Service.
