The GNAAS crew was tasked to the incident at 2.15pm yesterday. The man, in his 60s, was treated at the scene by the doctor and paramedic crew before being flown to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary for further treatment. He arrived in a serious but stable condition.
The flight took 5 minutes; by road this would have taken around 25 minutes.
