A man in his twenties was today airlifted by the Pride of Cumbria aircraft after he fell 30ft through the roof of a factory at Dalston, near Carlisle.
The aircraft, which is run by the Great North Air Ambulance Service, was called to the scene at 10.35am.
The charity’s paramedics worked alongside a North West Ambulance Service paramedic and a local BASICS immediate response doctor.
Together, they assessed and treated the casualty before he was flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
The flight took 20 minutes and the patient, who is believed to be from Carlisle, arrived in a stable condition with facial, possible pelvic and leg injuries.
