The Great North Air ambulance Service (GNAAS) was yesterday called to Rosthwaite, Lake District, where a man had fallen from a ladder. The charity’s Pride of Cumbria aircraft was called to the scene at 5.30pm to assist the man, believed to be in his 50s. He was treated on scene by the GNAAS doctor-led aircrew for back injuries before being flown to Royal Preston Hospital in a flight that took 24 minutes.
