Major donation of dollars for the air ambulance

General Electric has donated $25,000 – around £15,000 – to the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) in recognition of its work in the region. Northumberland-based James Fenner, chief executive officer of GE Capital’s International Corporate Finance Bank, said his firm was dedicated to ‘supporting the community and is pleased to support charities near its UK offices as part of its outreach programs that give employees the chance to engage with charities’. He added: “We enjoy being able to get involved with the local charities in the community; it was a pleasure to attend the Great North Air Ambulance supporters’ day to present funds for such a worthwhile charity.” Grahame Pickering, chief executive at GNAAS, said: “Every penny counts at this charity, so to have been given such a significant, one-off sum is a huge boost to our work in the region. “We are immensely grateful to Mr Fenner for thinking of our charity, and hugely proud that he has chosen to recognise the work we carry out. “We’d also like to thank General Electric for making this possible.”.
