A man who sustained life-threatening injuries in an horrific road accident has returned to work.
Keith Talbot was airlifted last May when his trike collided with another vehicle near Alnwick in Northumberland. The incident left Keith fighting for his life with broken ribs, a smashed pelvis and ripped arteries.
Speaking shortly after the incident, GNAAS paramedic Colin Clark said: “This was a massive impact, and I think Mr Talbot was the luckiest man in Britain that day.”
Keith, who lives in Ashington, Northumberland, got in touch earlier in the week to say that a fundraiser he held last year had raised £1,900. He is still on crutches but has returned to work and is driving again.
His memory of the incident is yet to return, but Keith said he was certain that the work of the charity played a crucial role in his recovery. He added: “From everything I have heard from friends and doctors I am lucky to be alive today, and if it wasn’t for GNAAS I don’t think I would be.”
