The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to a rugby club in Kielder where a 14-year-old player had suffered a neck injury during a tackle. The boy was assessed and treated by the GNAAS doctor-led trauma team before being flown to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary within 17 minutes.

The boy was assessed and treated by the GNAAS doctor-led trauma team before being flown to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary within 17 minutes. He arrived in a stable condition.
GNAAS was called to the incident at 6pm on Sunday.
