The Great North Air Ambulance Service was called to a jockey who had been thrown from his horse which then landed on him at Melsonby, near Scotch Corner at 1:05pm yesterday (Tues). The 25-year-old man, from Crook, sustained a possible pelvic fracture which was splinted on scene. He was then given pain relief before being flown to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
