It’s in the bag for GNAAS Trading Company

The Great North Air Ambulance Service Trading Company has collected 32.7 tonnes of bags of clothing in seven weeks from the Gateshead area – the same weight as around five African elephants.

The Trading Company was formed in 2001 as a means of channelling funds into the charity. It started clothing collections in 2004.

Judith Woodcock, general manager at the Trading Company, said: “Something as simple as filling a bag of clothes and leaving it on your doorstep for collection can potentially save lives. It really is that clear-cut.”

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) receives 100 per cent of the profits from the Trading Company. This money directly supports the charity’s three air ambulance helicopters across the North-East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria.

The areas the collection teams are working in this week are:

* Morpeth Council District

* Chester-le-street Council District

* South Tyneside Council District

* Middlesbrough Council District

* Stockton Council District

* Carlisle Council District

* Allerdale Council District

All our vans are clearly marked in our green and white colours. Our staff are happy to show identification if asked. If any member of the public has something for collection and collection teams are not in the area then call the Trading Company on 01325 308139 or email Julie@greatnorthairambulance.co.uk.
