Thanks to your support we were able to attend the following incidents this weekend:
On Saturday at 10.15am we were called to assist the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) in Crosby-on-Eden, Carlisle, where a woman, believed to be in her 60s, sustained a hip injury in her home. The patient was treated by the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team and taken to Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle by road, accompanied by the GNAAS aircrew medics. She arrived in a stable condition.
Yesterday at 3.55pm we were called to assist the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) near Corbridge, Northumberland, where a man, believed to be in his 40s, had fallen off his motorbike. The GNAAS doctor-led trauma team assessed and treated the patient for multiple injuries and airlifted him to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. The flight took eight minutes and he arrived in a stable condition.
