In the spotlight: Our Corporate Partner Lycetts

“It is incredible that such a vital service is sustained solely through charitable donations, and we’re grateful to have been able to contribute, even in a small way.”

Insurance broker and independent financial adviser Lycetts have many clients and employees who live in rural areas and consequently have witnessed our critical care team in action.

This led to the firm choosing to support our charity and subsequently they’ve raised thousands of pounds for GNAAS.

In recognition of Lycetts’ fantastic support, we awarded them Corporate Partner status and recently had a chat with the team to find out more about their company and their fundraising.

Could you summarise what your company does?

Founded in 1961 Lycetts is a large independently operated UK insurance broker and financial services firm, offering tailored insurance products to businesses, rural estates and farms as well as being a leading insurer of equine businesses, renewable energy, high value houses, private clients and commercial risks.

We also provide financial planning for both private individuals and commercial organisations. We have 16 office locations throughout the UK, with our Head Office based in Newcastle.

Why is it important for Lycetts to support charities, such as GNAAS?

Lycetts is proudly part of the Benefact Group, the third largest corporate charity donor in the UK, and gives away all available profits to charities and good causes. Movement for Good is the annual programme of giving that anyone can get involved in, and each year over £1 million is donated to charities and good causes.

Lycetts chose the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) as one of the chosen charities due to their strong link with the countryside. Many of our clients, and employees live in rural areas, and consequently have firsthand experience of GNAAS’ service being used.

What have you done to support GNAAS?

We organised a Movember challenge in which over 20 employees took part. Each week progress photos were sent in, and at the end of the month an overall winner was announced. In total £4,200 was raised for GNAAS.

In addition to this, Josh who is one of our underwriters, and Jack from the IT department decided to complete a skydive in Switzerland in aid of GNAAS. They both thoroughly enjoyed it, and proudly raised over £1,000!

Why should other businesses support GNAAS?

They offer a life-saving service without any government funding, making it crucial for as many individuals and organisations as possible to contribute with donations so this service can continue.

We are proud to support GNAAS and hope that our small endeavours can help to sustain this brilliant organisation.
