How to host the perfect Brew with your Crew

Is there anything better than having a catch-up with friends over tea and delicious bakes, all while raising money for charity? We think not! Especially if someone brings a bottle of bubbly…

Every penny you generate through your tea party will help our air ambulance service respond to people in need.

That’s why we’ll help you to host the perfect tea party, whether that be during this Afternoon Tea Week, at work, or on an evening of your choice. So, let’s stick the kettle on!

Home is where the cake is

First things first, you need to choose your location! It doesn’t need to be grand; your back garden, a canteen or local community centre will do the trick! After all, if people know there are delicious goods up for grabs, they’ll be sure to swing by.

Save the date

Next up, you need to set a date and time. Consider the best time for the people who are attending. For example, if you’re hosting at work, which days are most people in the office? What time do they prefer to have lunch? This way, you can guarantee your place at our ‘Big Brew’ event.

Oh, and a little extra tip is to have a backup plan! If you’re planning a picnic or outdoor tea party, pack umbrellas or other types of shelter – you know what the British weather can be like…

Shout about it

At GNAAS, we’re HUGE fans of Facebook. We find it’s the best platform to promote our events and nurture our amazing community.

So, why not give it a try yourself? You can set up an event on Facebook and invite your friends, family and work colleagues. The social media app will even send them a reminder, so they’ll remember to bring spare change and maybe even a cake or two.

The more, the merrier

While many say baking is a fantastic way to de-stress, don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Ask everyone to get involved and bring their own creations. You could even have a bake-off and judge which sweet treat has all the taste buds tingling.

Let’s get baking

Need some inspo? We’ve got you covered with this recipe from our very own star baker, Araminta, whose Lotus Biscuit Cupcakes always have the office drooling! Trust us, you’ll want to try these. Download our recipe card here.

All about the décor

You’ve got your time, location and baked goods – now what? In your fundraising pack, you’ll find some Brew with the Crew bunting and cute (if we do say so ourselves) little cake toppers! Et voila, you’re ready to be the host with the most.

Go the extra mile

If you’d like to raise a little more money for our life-saving service, and keep attendees entertained, why not throw a tombola or raffle? It’s a great way to clear out unwanted gifts and possessions for charity!

So, raise your pinkies in the air for Afternoon Tea Week! We can’t wait to see all your pictures.
