GNAAS launches life-saving “Every Vehicle Every Heartbeat” campaign

Two charities are joining forces to help ensure people in cardiac arrest can receive life-saving treatment from defibrillators.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS), in collaboration with the Red Sky Foundation, is spearheading a one-week campaign, “Every Vehicle Every Heartbeat,” aimed at saving lives.

Organised through Big Give, and running from 3 December to 10 December, the campaign seeks to raise £25,000 from public donations, which will be matched by Big Give and GNAAS corporate sponsors, doubling the impact to an ambitious £50,000 goal.

The funds raised will be used to purchase 22 defibrillators for installation in community vans operated by GNAAS. These vans, often stationed at events and clothing collections, will be equipped to provide immediate assistance in the event of a cardiac emergency nearby, significantly increasing survival rates for those suffering from heart attacks.

Red Sky Foundation, renowned for providing life-saving defibrillators to schools and public spaces, has joined forces with GNAAS to address the urgent need for accessible life-saving equipment in the community.

Gordon Ingram, head of operations east at the Great North Air Ambulance said: “With every defibrillator installed, we’re giving people in our community a fighting chance in those critical, life-or-death moments.”

Sergio Petrucci, founder of the Red Sky Foundation said: “We have an incredible relationship with the Great North Air Ambulance. Knowing that our defibrillators will be used to help save lives means a lot to us and we’re very grateful to those who will support this very special campaign.”

Supporters are encouraged to contribute to the campaign via this link  or through social media.
