A DRIVER was injured after his car was involved in a collision with a HGV. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the A590 at Newby Bridge, Cumbria, at 8:45am this morning. The male occupant of the car had sustained head injuries. GNAAS assessed the patient who thankfully was found not to have sustained life-threatening injuries and was therefore taken to hospital by road, making the aircraft available for any other tasks..
