A 21-year-old woman was airlifted this afternoon after colliding with a van while cycling.
The incident happened on Kirkleatham Road, Redcar.
GNAAS were called at 1.45pm and arrived on scene shortly afterwards.
The patient, a local woman, had sustained serious head and neck injuries.
She was treated at the scene before being flown to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
The flight took just four minutes and the patient was stable upon arrival.
