A CYCLIST was airlifted to hospital after falling from his bike on Great Dun Fell in Cumbria on Saturday (July 23). The 22-year-old man was knocked unconscious and suffered a head injury. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at 1:50pm and the on-board doctor-led trauma team assessed and treated the patient before flying him to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary within 15 minutes, where he arrived in a stable condition.
