A cyclist suffered chest injuries after he fell from his bike at Seaham, County Durham. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene on Sunday 13th at 9:50am. A member of the public alerted the emergency services and the aircraft was called to assist due to the difficulty in accessing the man, in his forties.

The aircraft was able to land near to the patient and he was treated by the on-board trauma team before being taken to hospital by North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) paramedics.
