A cyclist in his thirties was airlifted by the Great North Air Ambulance this afternoon after he collided with a car in Hartlepool.
After assessment and treatment on scene from the GNAAS doctor he was transferred to the helicopter in the road vehicle.
This was because the aircraft had to land a few streets away on the site of the old health centre.
He was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough with head injuries, in a stable condition.
