A cyclist was airlifted to hospital after he fell from his bike near Bellingham on Saturday (Feb 21). The man suffered serious chest and hip injuries and was attended by a community paramedic from Bellingham before the arrival of the aircraft. The patient was then assessed and treated by the aircrew doctor before being flown to the RVI in Newcastle.
