Critically injured motorcyclist airlifted after A66 crash


A critically injured motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after a crash on the A66 near Penrith.

A critically injured motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after a crash on the A66 near Penrith.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) assessed and treated the man, in his sixties, for multiple life-threatening injuries.

GNAAS worked alongside a BASICS doctor and a NWAS paramedic crew before flying him to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle. The flight took 20 minutes and he arrived in a stable condition.

The incident took place on Saturday 26th September.
