The countdown is on for a charity fun run taking place in Darlington this weekend.
A mass of holy runners are encouraged to jog, walk or crawl the 5K course in Darlington’s South Park on Sunday, October 5, at 11am.
The run will feature singing nuns from Darlington Operatic Society and will raise funds for the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).
Ruth Davey of GNAAS, said: “We’d love to see as many people as possible dressed up as nuns to add to the fun. It’s going to be brilliant.”
There will be attractions on the day including stalls, music from Star Radio and an appearance from the GNAAS mascot, Miles the Bear.
Runners can pre-book their place via the GNAAS website or turn up on the day and register. Entry to the race is £10, which all goes to the life-saving charity.
The event is supported by Northumbrian Water who have provided ‘holy water’ for runners, Star Radio who are broadcasting the event and Harrison External Display Systems (www.flagpoles.co.uk) who have donated the use of their start and finish arches.
Darlington OS production of Sister Act runs from October 22 to November 1.
