The Great North Air Ambulance Service was called to a horse rider from Alston who had been thrown from her horse at 5:15pm yesterday. The 19-year-old was knocked unconscious and was stabilised at the scene before being flown to Newcastle’s RVI with serious head and pelvic injuries.
