Airlift as man hit by bus in Durham City


The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) were called to a male pedestrian who had been hit by a bus near North Road bus station, in Durham City, shortly after 3pm yesterday. GNAAS landed at Palace Green, near Durham Cathedral. The man in his sixties, from Hetton-le-Hole, suffered pelvis, chest and abdomen injuries and was treated by NEAS paramedics and GNAAS crew before being flown to Newcastle’s RVI in a stable but critical condition.
