The region’s air ambulance is hosting a fundraising ball in a bid to boost its coffers.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) will hold an “Air Angels Ball” at the Crown & Mitre Hotel in Carlisle on September 24.
Each year, the black-tie event raises thousands of pounds for the charity which saves lives across Cumbria.
Supporters, survivors, and medical crew will unite at the event which they hope will attract around 200 guests.
GNAAS chief executive, Grahame Pickering MBE, said “Our annual ball is a truly magical evening and a unique occasion in our events calendar. It is a rare opportunity for everyone who backs GNAAS to unite in celebration of our life-saving service.
“Numbers are a little down on last year so we hope people will rally around and support their local air ambulance.
“Every single penny raised helps us to continue to operate the Pride of Cumbria. It also means we can invest in medical advancements so that we can keep on increasing survival rates for patients across the region.”
Guests will be entertained by Ruby’s Runawayz, a 50’s and 60’s tribute band, a silent disco donated by Saint Cuthbert College, Durham University, as well as a DJ.
Mr Pickering, who founded the charity, added: “The event would not be possible without many local individuals and businesses who support us through donations, sponsorships, entertainment and theming.”
Tickets are £40 per person and include a three-course meal, live music, disco and other entertainment, a charity auction and raffle.
