The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to Lowther Park, near Penrith, after a woman sustained a serious leg injury during an obstacle challenge on Saturday (May 4). The competitor, from Spennymoor, was taking part in the Born Survivor Challenge.

The competitor, from Spennymoor, was taking part in the Born Survivor Challenge. She was treated by the aircrew doctor and paramedic team before being flown to Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, in twelve minutes. Her condition was described as stable upon arrival.
