The Great North Air Ambulance Service was called to a light aircraft crash at Bowburn, County Durham, at 2pm on Saturday (June 13). Despite extensive damage to his aircraft, the 70-year-old male pilot, believed to be from Heworth, Tyne and Wear, walked away with only minor injuries and did not need to be airlifted. .
