An annual Christmas shopping event will support the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).
For more than a quarter of a century, Lewis & Cooper’s Christmas Food & Drink festival has attracted hundreds of food and drink fans to its Northallerton store on the first Sunday of each November.
A celebration of quality producers and suppliers from the region and beyond, it has raised many thousands of pounds over the years for a wide range of good causes.
This year the chosen charity is the Great North Air Ambulance, which serves North Yorkshire, the North-East and Cumbria.
The event, on Sunday, November 3 (10am-4pm), will give shoppers the chance of 10% off most food, wine and hampers from across the store.
Entry is free, with donations to the air ambulance charity encouraged and GNAAS volunteers will be on hand to help on the day. A tombola and other fundraising efforts also help fill the charitable coffers.
Shoppers can get a head start on festive food, drink and gift ideas as well as meeting key producers and suppliers and tasting their wares. There will also be cookery demonstrations by Pampered Chef representative Fiona Joseph using quality L&C ingredients upstairs in the store’s new lounge area.
The firm’s retail director, Bettina Bell, said: “Down the decades this event has become the most enjoyable date in our calendar, with customers travelling from across the region to meet producers and get a head start on their Christmas shopping.
“We’re really pleased to be supporting Great North Air Ambulance this year, with this event and with our regular club shopping evenings.”
