An Introduction to GNAAS

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) is a fast paced, growing organisation which operates two helicopter air ambulances 365 days a year, across the North-East, North Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Isle of Man.

GNAAS crews respond to more than 2000 call outs each year, using helicopters and cars to reach every corner of the region, from the Lakeland fells in the west to the urban centres on the east coast.

We are funded by public donations and need to raise over £9.3m every year to maintain this life saving service in our region.

Duties will include carrying out vehicle checks on the charity fleet; resolving basic plumbing problems; painting and touching up walls, skirting boards and door frames; supporting the volunteer gardening team and other repairs and maintenance as required.

The successful candidate will possess demonstrable building maintenance skills and have experience in plumbing, general decorating and minor electrical works. You will have a working knowledge of health and safety and legislative requirements.

You will provide a high level of service, handling and resolving highlighted issues together with the ability to use your own initiative and work independently.
