A group of North-East bikers have the chance to take part in two challenges to raise funds for the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).
Motorcycle group, Boundary 500, have organised the Boundary 500 Challenge – a motorcycle ride around the perimeter of the GNAAS operational area.
Ninety three riders have already signed up to the route that will cover nearly 500 miles with stopping locations at: Berwick-upon-Tweed, Whitehaven, Barrow-in-Furness, Skipton and Scarborough.
Two wheeled motorcycles and trikes are welcome and riders and pillions have the option to complete the ride over two days.
The event will begin at 6am on Saturday 28th June at Kirkleatham Hall, Redcar, where there will be free camping at the end of the ride.
Brian Laverick, group chairman, said: “These events provide a great day out for motorcycle enthusiasts while at the same time raising money for the life-saving charity.”
The next day, riders will have the chance to participate in the Boundary 500 Classic Challenge, with all two wheeled motorcycles and trikes again welcome.
Mr Laverick said: “Because of the ride’s popularity it is now open to all motorcycles irrespective of age. This is the event pillions love to enter because of the frequent stops.”
The ride will begin at 9.30am on Sunday 29th June at Kirkleatham Hall, where there is free camping available.
The locations the group will visit are: Saltburn, Danby, Lealholm, Beadlam Grange Farm via Rosedale Chimney and Brymor Ice Cream Parlour before returning to Kirkleatham Hall.
The route is approximately 130 miles and takes in the excellent scenery that the North Yorkshire Moors area has to offer.
There is an entrance fee of £3 per rider and pillion, who are asked to raise a minimum of £20 sponsorship each. Riders will receive an air ambulance t-shirt, badge and Boundary mug.
Boundary 500 has raised more than £500,000 for good causes since the group started in June 2006.
