Here is a round-up of the missions GNAAS crew attended yesterday:
Saltburn – We were called to a male in his 60s who had been involved in a road traffic collision and suffered serious injuries. GNAAS crew anaesthetised and stabilised the man before taking him to James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough. Police, ambulances and fire engines were also on scene.
Workington – We were called to assist the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) with a male who had collapsed in his house. He was treated at the scene by NWAS paramedics and GNAAS crew. He was anaesthetised by the GNAAS doctor and then flown to Newcastle RVI.
Kirkby Stephen -We were called to a male who was suffering a heart attack at a GP surgery. He was treated at the scene by the local GP practice staff and GNAAS crew before being flown for specialist treatment at the PCI centre, Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle.
Longtown – We were called to a male who had fallen from scaffolding. He suffered head and back injuries and was treated at the scene by GNAAS crew and NWAS paramedics before being transported to the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle by road ambulance.
