Aircrew fly to help injured surfer


The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to Staithes in North Yorkshire this morning to help a surfer who had gotten into difficulties. The man, in his fifties, had sustained a blow to the head and leg injuries in the incident.

The man, in his fifties, had sustained a blow to the head and leg injuries in the incident.
GNAAS was called to attend at 10.10am and joined Yorkshire Ambulance Service, the RNLI and coastguard at the scene.

The man was taken to the RNLI station where he was assessed by GNAAS’ aircrew doctor. Thankfully, the man’s injuries were found to be non life-threatening and he was able to be transported to hospital by road ambulance.
