A POPULAR folk festival is returning in 2014 with two weekends packed full of traditional music.
The Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel in the heart of the Lake District will host the Langdale Folk Festival across two weekends in May and September.
Musicians from around the British Isles will descend on the picturesque venue for the event, which is being held to raise money for the Great North Air Ambulance Service and Lake District Mountain Rescue Search Dogs.
The first weekend is May 9th to 11th, with Irish fiddler Mike Allen, Newcastle three-piece The Mustgetbeers and singer-songwriter Si Cousins among the plethora of renowned artists lining up.
In September, the event returns on the weekend of 12th to 14th with Dylan Owen, Bev Whelan and Plumhall already slated to play.
Entry to both events is free but there will be fundraising taking place to boost the two local charities, which last year were handed £3,000 by event organiser Dave Reid.
Mr Reid said: “Tickets are free and all are welcome, but latecomers shouldn’t be surprised if there’s no room left at the inn.”
