The Boundary 500 Motorcycle Group has announced details of this year’s fundraising rides across the North of England.
The group has been supporting the charity since 2006 and has raised more than £300,000 for the cause since then.
This year, the Boundary 500 Motorcycle Challenge takes place on Saturday, June 29th, taking in the 500 mile circumference of the Great North Air Ambulance’s service area.
Riders can take one or two days to complete the journey, which starts and finishes at Kirkleatham Hall in Redcar, where free camping is available. The route takes in Berwick, Carlisle, Whitehaven, Kendal, York and Scarborough. There will also be a start and finish point in Cumbria, to be announced. Entry is £3, with participants asked to raise £20 in sponsorship each. Each entrant receives a GNAAS t-shirt, badge and mug.
The following day, Sunday June 30th, the Boundary 500 Classic Motorcycle Challenge takes in 130 miles around the North Yorkshire Moors. Again, entry is £3 each, with riders asked to raise a minimum of £20 sponsorship, and each entrant receiving a t-shirt, mug and badge.
On Saturday, August 24th, the Boundary Lakes Classic takes in a distance of about 125 miles around the Lake District National Park. It is open to any age of bike. Entry is £3 for rider/pillion, with each asked to raise a minimum of £20 sponsorship, and each receiving a GNAAS t-shirt, mug and badge. The ride starts at Oily’s Pub, Winscale, Workington, Cumbria, CA14 4JG. Following the ride there will be a barbecue.
