Meet our Corporate Partners: Porsche Centre South Lakes

Porsche Centre South Lakes is a family run business that is heavily involved in their local community including supporting charities like ours.

They first selected GNAAS as one of their chosen charity partners last year and ran an exclusive charity evening where they auctioned off items to their customers, with the proceeds going to us. They also kindly provided an auction prize for our charity ball.

The family run business is located at J35 of the M6 and they look after all of Cumbria and the North Lancashire region. They are also the oldest UK Porsche Centre having been established with Porsche in 1957 by the Parker family who still own and run Porsche Centre South Lakes, with their business dating back to the 1800’s.

Richard Smith, marketing manager at Porsche Centre South Lakes, said: “Supporting charities is a key aspect of our business, being run by the Parker family, one of their key objectives is to always be a part of the community that we cover. Whether that be more locally around the Centre or further afield covering our whole area of interest.

“GNAAS play a key role in helping the people living, working and travelling through our area of interest so it is a great charity for us to support to help us give back to those people.”

In recognition of Porsche Centre South Lakes’ support, we asked if they would like to become a Corporate Partner at GNAAS, which they gratefully accepted.

To become a Corporate Partner, businesses need to raise a minimum of £5,000, and in return they receive several benefits including having first refusal of sponsorships and invites to charity events, use of our conference room and the opportunity to volunteer for our charity.

Employees from the business, including Richard, visited our base in Langwathby, Penrith to celebrate the launch of our new Corporate Partner Scheme, and were given the opportunity to network with other Corporate Partners and get a tour of our helicopter.

Richard said: “It was great to meet the other Corporate Partners and also meet the GNAAS team including the crew and charity staff. Getting up-close with the “Pride of Cumbria II” helicopter was also a great and humbling experience.

“The professionalism of all the team surrounding GNAAS really stands out to me and just in general, the work that the team does is essential and lifesaving.”

Since visiting our base and learning more about our charity, Richard is encouraging other businesses to support our charity and become a Corporate Partner.

He said: “Supporting GNAAS not only helps the most urgent and in need people of Cumbria and the surrounding area when it comes to emergencies, which is much needed with our rural location, but it’s a charity that really does need the support as the running and maintenance costs of the helicopter are not cheap. They get no government support, so every pound is needed.”
