Incident Round-Up : August 10

Today our crew at Langwathby were very busy. Here are some of the incidents they attended:

At 8.20am we were called to assist the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) in Tebay where a car had collided with a HGV. The GNAAS paramedic and doctor team assessed the patients who thankfully weren’t as seriously injured as first thought. They were taken to hospital by a NWAS road crew for further treatment.

At 9.20am we were called to Windermere where a man, believed to be in his 60s, suffered a medical episode while driving. He was assessed and treated by the GNAAS doctor-led trauma team before being taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary by a NWAS road crew accompanied by the GNAAS team. He arrived in a stable condition.

At 3.20pm we were called to assist the Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team in Boredale where a man was injured while taking part in a mountain bike race. He was assessed and treated by the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team before being flown to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle. The flight took 15 minutes and he arrived in a stable condition.
