Incident Round-Up: June 29 – July 1

On Friday at 5.28pm we were called to Cartmel Races where a woman, believed to be in her 20s, had fallen from a horse and sustained a neck injury. She was assessed and treated by the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team before being taken to Royal Preston Hospital. The flight took 18 minutes and she arrived in a stable condition.

On Saturday at 1.58pm we were called to Penrith where a man, believed to be in his 60s, had been injured in a fall. The GNAAS paramedic and doctor team assessed and treated the patient alongside the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS). He was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle by an NWAS road crew and arrived in a stable condition.

At 4.57pm we were called to Seaham where a man, believed to be in his 50s, was involved in a collision between a motorbike and a car. He sustained multiple injuries and was assessed and treated by the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team. He was flown to the RVI in Newcastle in nine minutes and arrived in a stable condition.

At 5:35pm we were called to a collision between a car and a push bike at South Kilvington, near Thirsk. A man, believed to be in his 50s, was critically injured and was assessed and treated by the GNAAS doctor-led trauma team. The patient was flown to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough in 11 minutes and he arrived in a critical condition.

On Sunday at 12.41pm we were called to Alston, where a woman, believed to be in her 70s, had sustained an ankle injury after a fall. She was assessed and treated by the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team before being flown to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle. The flight took 10 minutes and she arrived in a stable condition.
