Thanks to your support we were able to attend the following incidents this weekend:
On Saturday at 10am we were called to the Shildon bypass, where four vehicles had been involved in a road traffic collision. The GNAAS paramedic and doctor team worked alongside the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) and assessed and treated multiple patients before they were transported by a NEAS road crew to hospital.
On Saturday at 12.25pm we were called to assist the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) at Brigham near Cockermouth where a woman, believed to be in her 90s, had collapsed in the street. The patient was assessed and treated by the GNAAS doctor-led trauma team before being flown to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle. The flight took ten minutes and she arrived in a critical condition.

On Saturday at 1.30pm we were called to assist NWAS in Lamplugh, Workington, where a woman, believed to be in her 20s, had sustained a leg injury in a motocross incident. She was assessed and treated by the GNAAS doctor-led trauma team and airlifted to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle. The flight took 13 minutes and she arrived in a stable condition.
On Sunday at 2.37pm we were called to assist Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team (LAMRT) on Heron Pike near Grasmere, where a man, believed to be in his 70s, had slipped and sustained a knee injury. The patient was assessed and treated by the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team before being flown to the bottom of the fell where he was taken to hospital by a NWAS road crew.
