We had a busy Saturday but thanks to your continued support we were able to attend the following incidents:
At 9.30am we were called to Leyburn to help Yorkshire Ambulance Service after a local woman fell seriously ill. The land crew did a brilliant job stabilising the patient. We then flew her to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. The flight took ten minutes. The journey by road would have taken around an hour.
In the afternoon at 1.50pm we were called to Sherburn, County Durham, where a male motorcyclist, believed to be in his 30s, was involved in a road traffic collision. The patient was treated by the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team before being flown to James Cook University Hospital.
At 3pm we were called to a location near Kendal, where a man, believed to be in his 50s, had fallen off his motorbike. The patient was assessed and treated by the GNAAS doctor-led trauma team before being flown to Royal Preston Hospital. The flight took 14 minutes and he arrived in a stable condition.
At 5pm we were called to assist North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) in Windermere, where a man, believed to be in his 50s, became seriously unwell. The patient was assessed and treated by the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team before being airlifted to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle. The flight took 12 minutes and he arrived in a stable condition.
