Incident round-up: September 30 and October 1

On Saturday at 12.15pm we were called to Alnwick, at the A697, after two vehicles were involved in a collision. A woman, believed to be in her 20s, had sustained serious injuries. She was treated at the scene by North East Ambulance Service paramedics and the GNAAS team before being flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in Newcastle. The flight took 12 minutes and she arrived in a stable condition.

At 3.50pm on Saturday we were called to moorland near the Tan Hill pub in Arkengarthdale, where two males were trapped under an overturned quad bike. The GNAAS paramedic and doctor team assessed and treated the patients before airlifting them to the RVI where they arrived in a stable condition. We would like to thank the volunteers at Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team for their assistance as they helped make the work of the medics much easier in locating and treating the patients. North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, North Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Air Ambulance also attended the incident.

On Sunday at 5.45pm we were called to assist North West Ambulance Service in Dalton-in-Furness, Cumbria, after two vehicles were involved in a collision. A woman, believed to be in her 40s, had sustained abdominal and pelvis injuries and was assessed and treated by the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team before being flown to the Royal Preston Hospital. The flight took 16 minutes and she arrived in a stable condition.
