Here are some of the incidents we attended today:
At 10.15am we were called to assist the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) and North West Air Ambulance (NWAA) in Cockermouth, Cumbria. A male, believed to be in his 60s, had sustained a groin injury after being struck by a bull at a cattle market. The patient was assessed by the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team where his injuries were identified as being not as serious as first thought. He was airlifted by NWAA to Royal Preston Hospital and arrived in a stable condition.
At 1.50pm we were called to assist the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) after a two car road traffic collision on the A1 Northbound near Bowburn. The GNAAS doctor and paramedic team assessed two patients including a female, believed to be in her 40s, but thankfully they sustained non life-threatening injuries. The patients were taken to a local hospital by a NEAS road crew.
